In 2014, I decided to take a leave of absence from corporate America. I had burnt out after working 100 hour weeks for 30 years. My decision to take a break from the daily grind was the culmination of many converging events and circumstances in my life that eventually would lead me spiraling down the abyss.
Return to California
I moved back to California from Boston, having moved out to the East Coast to take on a job at Pearson as a VP of engineering. After three years of constant travel, constant corporate reorganizations, and new bosses every year, I had more than enough of my East Coast Experience to decide that it was time to return to my home on the West Coast. After all, I missed California. I was born there, right?
